Pea Irish Prean
Pisum sativum A very tall productive pea with pairs of large straight pods up to 10 cm long, with very large sweet peas, about 2m tall. Sow undercover from February and out doors from March to June. Needs support as tendrils appear. It is thought to be an old variety developed in Ireland. It looks identical to Mr Bound's pea bean which I got from a friend, but she got from the Heritage seed library in the UK. This is a soup or storage pea, good for mushing or soup.
